home protection sheriff home watch vandal
Letter of Introduction As a retired police officer with more than 34 years of service, and having lived more than 50 years in Southwest Florida, I have personally seen the hardships that can occur while a homeowner is living up north during the Summer months (or just away on holiday) and no one with authority is there to represent the homeowner if problems arise. Problems that may occur range from the minor (pool or lawn company not performing their services properly) to the extreme (burglary, theft, or criminal mischief). If the homeowner has not obtained someone to overlook their property, a “key-holder”, then there is a possibility that a problem will not be discovered until the homeowner returns and in the event of an incident occurring the home could be left unsecured. If a crime were to occur, the police could run into problems in their investigation without authorization from the owner. Someone is needed to act on behalf of the homeowner and to have the power to authorize the police to investigate the crime and prosecute any suspects. This can be accomplished with a “key-holder”, allowing the homeowner to stay up north.
